The purpose of this Smoking Policy is to promote a safe, healthy, and respectful environment for clients and employees.

This policy establishes guidelines regarding smoking and tobacco use while on duty or providing care.


Scope:

Applies to all employees, contractors, and administrative staff.

Covers all client homes and service locations.


Policy Statement:

Open Arms Healthcare, LLC is committed to maintaining a smoke-free and health-conscious environment.


Definitions:

Smoking includes cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes (vapes), and all nicotine products.


General Rules:

No smoking inside client homes unless explicitly permitted.

No smoking during direct care or in presence of clients.

Maintain hygiene after smoking.


Client Rights:

Clients may request non-smoking caregivers.

Employees must respect client household rules.


Safety:

No smoking near oxygen equipment or fire hazards.

Report unsafe conditions immediately.


Breaks:

Smoking only allowed during approved breaks.

Must not interfere with scheduled care.


EVV Compliance:

No improper clocking for breaks.

Follow all EVV policies.


Hygiene:

Maintain cleanliness and avoid smoke odors.


Disciplinary Action:

Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or termination.
